Discovering Kalamaki: A Culinary Journey at Vintage

Updated: 7 days ago

A Summer Visit to Kalamaki

So G and I visited Kalamaki in July 2025. This was our first time in peak season for a few years. Previously, we opted to visit out of season in March or late in the season in September or October. During those times, the resorts are quieter, and the weather is cooler.

Our Annual Pilgrimage to Vintage

Vintage, based in Kalamaki, is an annual pilgrimage for us! While visiting in March for the carnival in 2024, we found ourselves away on holiday on Mother’s Day. To our delight, Vintage was open! It was a somewhat different experience from normal. The shutters were down to keep out the wind, and they operated with a skeleton staff. However, the food was sublime!

A Saturday Evening Delight

This time around, we visited on a Saturday evening. We enjoyed their beautiful bread and dips starter, which comes with chopped tomatoes. This dish easily serves two for just 6.90 euros. We both ordered a Coke, which was pricey at 3.50 euros each, but they were much needed.

G had prawn saganaki to start, which cost around 12 euros. For mains, we both opted for the fillet steak, cooked to order and served with delicious twice-cooked chips. The steak was 28 euros and well worth it. I opted for medium well, and G chose medium. We were both happy with our food. Our total spend here was 92 euros, which is a little pricier than other restaurants on the strip in Kalamaki. However, the steaks are far superior to anything else you will find. I did eat steak in another restaurant (which I will not name), and in comparison, it tasted like cardboard!

Exceptional Service and Comfort

The service here is great. The staff are friendly and attentive, but you are not rushed. There is adequate air conditioning, which was a little too much on the evening we visited. Nonetheless, it will keep you cool on hot summer evenings.

Patience is Key

Be prepared for a wait. This is not fast food. Your steak is cooked to order as per your instructions and is cooked to perfection. The experience is worth the wait.

A Must-Visit for Steak Lovers

I would definitely recommend a visit to Vintage if you are looking for a fabulous steak meal with great hospitality. The combination of quality food and attentive service makes it a standout choice in Kalamaki.

Enjoy Your Culinary Adventure

Wherever you decide to eat in Kalamaki, enjoy! The culinary scene is vibrant, and there are many options to explore.
