Amalfi

Amalfi is the brain child of TV celebrity chef Bobby Flay and is located on the casino floor of Caesars Palace. It is definitely a fine dining experience with beautifully presented dishes and an extensive wine list.

Remember to ask for the foccacia - it is not on the menu but is available if you ask - this is a beautiful fluffy garlicky ball of bread, dripping in garlic butter. We teamed ours with a burrata bowl and to be honest could have left it at that - delicious!

We opted for the squid ink seafood pasta and I had the ragu for our main courses, both of which were actually quite plentiful and not ridiculously over priced. We both opted for sodas and declined dessert. Our bill including the dreaded tax was around $170.
Sadelles
We visited the beautiful Sadelles restaurant at breakfast time, having booked a table in advance to celebrate G’s birthday. You have to book via their website and cannot book any more than 30 days ahead. One tip - book as soon as you can as spaces are like absolute gold dust! You can rock up and queue but your wait may be long!

Located in the conservatory garden area of the Bellagio, Sadelles is dressed to mimic a fancy Parisienne tea room and very much reminded me of the Angelina Cafe in Paris! The staff are exceptionally smartly dressed and the service is impeccible.

I had the eggs Benedict with a side of potato rosti which was recommended to me, with G opting for the blueberry pancakes which were packed with fruit. We opted for orange juice and coffee to accompany our breakfast and G was presented with both a complimentary glass of champagne and a small cake complete with candle as I had alerted the restaurant that we would be visiting on her birthday. This was a really nice touch! Our bill was around $90 so definitely on the pricier side for breakfast but brilliant for a special occasion. This is somewhere I would definitely visit again.

Buddy V’s Restaurant
Buddy Valestro, aka The Cake Boss, has several outlets in Vegas; from his Cake Boss Bake Shop, to the vending machines selling his famous rainbow cakes, he really is everywhere!
We opted to visit Buddy V’s one evening for dinner after spending the day trawling the shops, we just wanted something quick to eat that was close to our room as we were exhausted! Luckily for us, Buddy V’s is located inside The Venetian, sitting right opposite the Cake Boss Bake Shop. We managed to get seated fairly quickly given that we had not booked and opted for eggplant parmigiana (and free bread and oil) to start. This was followed by rigatoni (for mamma) and prawn linguine for G. We also indulged in two alcohol free passion fruit mojitos!

I have to say that the food was served quickly and was tasty, the portions were great and it’s always a bonus to find non alcoholic options on the menu - let’s face it just because I don’t drink doesn’t mean I always want a Diet Coke.
We declined the offer of dessert or coffee (we had a helicopter tour over the strip later that evening and thought best that we swerve anything sickly!).
With our bill hovering around the $100 mark including tax, I felt that it was a pretty average price for Vegas.
Sugarcane

Located in The Venetian Hotel, in the Grande Canal Shoppes, Sugarcane was a really nice place to come for breakfast. It is actually a seafood, raw bar and grill, however we decided to come for breakfast on our first morning in Vegas. We booked via Open Table to make sure we would get seated, however it was not busy and we were seated very quickly. We opted for French toast (for G) and a breakfast plate for me complete with breakfast potatoes. Coffee is definitely the order of the day in Vegas and we opted for a latte and a soya latte.
The food came quickly and was nicely presented. With a bill of around $60 we left feeling full. With reasonable prices and great service, this is somewhere I would definitely come to again.
