Bewley’s Tea Rooms, Dublin

Bewley’s is a famous tea room / cafe in the heart of bustling Grafton Street in Dublin City Centre.  Established almost 100 years ago, Bewley’s is something of an Irish institution.  Open for breakfast, lunch or just perhaps coffee and cake, this is our go-to place when visiting Dublin.

We have visited here on two separate occasions, both times taking in the full Irish breakfast and each time - absolutely amazing.  Eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomato, baked beans, black and white pudding all served with gorgeous sour dough bread.  Paying around 19 euros for the full breakfast experience, you leave feeling happily full.

G also opted to try one of their signature pastries on her last visit in early March - reported to be a bit like a cinamon swirl but with almonds (there was also a cherry variety), this was a really light fluffy pastry that just melted in the mouth.  As she couldn’t decide which one to get, she asked their server to recommend and he opted for the almond one so I guess I’ll just have to order the cherry variety when I am next in Dublin!  Washed down with a latte this was a full Irish breakfast experience.

Bewleys’ does of course have a shop where you can buy branded tea, coffee, biscuits and other merchandise - a little pricey compared to what you can buy in the shops but G did bring me home a fancy tin of Bewley’s tea bags as fancy teas are my thing and are always gratefully received!

So, whenever you are in Dublin do drop in to Bewley’s for a cuppa and a cake, for breakfast or lunch and experience that renowned Irish hospitality and leave with a full belly!

See you soon
